Perfect tour & host to discover the beauty CRETE

I had visited Crete many years ago and wanted to actually explore it in a different way. The Peza Wine Roads worked out extremely well. We were a party of 4 people. Right from scratch, our host Iorgos, focussed on the fascinating history of Cretan wine, beginning with the early Minoan Civilization, until our days. I really liked the fact that Iorgos actually described things beyond Wine... such as the world of Virgin Olive Oil...so related to Greece... We went into 2 wineries & tasted easily some 12 different varieties. After this, a superb lucnh awaited us at a traditional restaurant in Archanes town. This is the Crete... and the food was superb! It was complimented with at least 5 more wines from other parts of the island and, to my surprise, we further our knowledge of olive oil by tasting what it might have been a dozen of them! A great experience overall, satisfying and at the same time one that leaves a lasting impression. A host eager to share the magic of its land...

Heraklion: Cretan Wineries Full-Day Tour with Lunch Reviewed by Anonymous, 06/18/2019

Loved the tour, except the lunch stop at Lake Kournas.

Overall we loved the tour. The communication leading up to the trip was great - we were notified of the changes to the pick up time and location. The pick up was very prompt, and we were greeted by our excellent guide Alexander. The bus journey took us to see some breathtaking sights, and the tour guide told us about the history of different places on the way. The only negative (in our opinion) was the planned lunch stop at Lake Kournas, which took away from time at Chania and Rethymno. Unfortunately we were especially disappointed with the restaurant at Kournas, where we were treated like an inconvenience by the lady who served us. We felt that the stopping time at Kournas took away from valuable time at the final stop Rethymno which is a true gem of a town! Would have loved to have our late lunch/dinner there instead, and a much longer stroll to browse the local old town streets! But overall - great day exploring Crete, recommend!

Fabulous trip. Stunning scenery. Excellent informative guide.

This is a fabulous island to visit with stunning scenery. I was really impressed with the organisation of this trip - our guide was excellent in her presentation of information about life on Santorini, the historical perspective, a little of how the island was formed, and local plants etc. I would recommend people to visit in spring time as there were more than enough tourists here already! It was windy and we had some rough weather on the ferry trip back.

Fantastic walk and amazing scenery, not to be missed!

Well organised trip and had a brilliant day. It was a long day being picked up at 6am and not getting back to hotel until 10pm but thoroughly enjoyed it. The Gorge is awesome and the walk was challenging in the heat but well worth the effort. The swim in the sea at the end was heavenly as was the cold beer after! Getting the boat back for part of the way was fab and also the stop for souvlaki being cooked outside for us.

Visit was good but was overcharged at lunch (3 Euro for one bread)

The trip by ferry was pleasant and the visit to Santorini was most enjoyable. However, I and a few other tourists who followed the tour guide to a restaurant were overcharged at lunch. We were given breads which we did not order and were later charged for 3 Euro for each piece of bread we consumed. This was not right and not fair. I told the restaurant flatly that I would never come back.
