Bat Trang Pottery Village, great tour with fabulous tour guide, Anna

My tour was so nice with Anna - tour guide in Bat Trang ancient - pottery village! So amazing!!! Bat trang is the Ceramic Village in Hanoi which attract me with their own products is made by themselves' hand. This is the most interesting place that people preoccupied with their works. There are a lot of making ceramic places which gave me unforgettable memory that I could make and paint by myself. It's the feeling I am as a ceramic maker. I loved an ancient place which every house and families have many many handicrafts and paintings, which is the most imposing and interesting drawings and products. This is the pride of that villagers who have to do hard works. I've been in ceramic market which really impressed me with the incredible styles, beautiful and colorful ceramics. Highly recommend the tour and Anna!

Great way to experience Hanoi in ways most would not on their own

We had a great afternoon with Alex as our guide. We tried food from small outlets we would have never dared to try on our own. We also walked though areas we would otherwise not have discovered. Alex was good at explaining the different foods we tried. Small suggestion for improvement is that we would have appreciated more stories from our guide about Hanoi living and Vietnamese food culture. Explanations were short and factual and in between our guide was a lot on his phone texting. We suspect that part of the challenge is the guide’s limitations expressing himself in English. Overall: if you have the chance, go ahead and book to experience Vietnam Street Food.. just don’t expect a lot of conversation over the hours with your guide.

Great way to see Hanoi in the evening when short on time

I was picked up on time by my friendly guide, Hannah (Thanh). We took a cyclo around the old quarter and Hoan Kiem lake and then I was taken for some food the guide recommended and an egg coffee. The guide was friendly, knowledgeable and had excellent English. The tour ended as I was walked to the water puppet theatre and given directions back to my hotel. I was pushed for time, so booking this tour was great for me as I didn't have to worry about purchasing a ticket for the water puppet show (which is often sold out). I enjoyed the show, and would recommend as it is a unique experience.

An evening of Vietnamese gastronomic delight!

Dip your taste buds into the life of a local by pulling up a small plastic chair on the sidewalk and enjoying Vietnamese delicacies including green papaya salad and bang mi (a meatball sandwich in a freshly-baked mini baguette) among others. The night is topped off with an "egg coffee" (tastes like tiramisu) in one of Hanoi's oldest coffee shops. In a word...YUMMY!
