5 things to know about the Musée Grévin

Located on the Boulevard Montmartre is one of Paris' more curious attractions. Don't go just for the waxworks though, as the historic Musée Grévin goes beyond lifeless likenesses, capturing the evolution of French culture over the last century. Here's how!

It's one of the oldest wax museums in Europe

The baroque Grevin Wax Museum was built in 1882 by the journalist Arthur Meyer and named for its first artistic director Alfred Grévin, who became totally immersed in the project.

It exhibited the first animated film in 1894

"Pauvre Pierrot" is a 15-minute story about a love triangle created by French inventor Émile Reynaud. Made in 1892, it was eventually screened alongside two of his later films.

It incorporates real murder exhibits

The grisly model of Charlotte Corday murdering radical revolutionary Jean-Paul Marat contains the actual knife and bathtub used in the 1793 killing!

Check out the Hall of Mirrors

You can't miss it! The elaborate Hall of Mirrors was built for Paris' Universal Exhibition in 1900. To this day it remains one of the museum's most popular exhibits!

Kids will love the Children's World

Bringing the little ones? Skip the Medieval torture tableaus and head to Children's World. There they can play amongst characters from their favorite films, cartoons, and comics!

Great - but only worth it if you really get out and go lots of places

The Paris pass is perfect for new tourists who haven't been to Paris before as it kind of organises and structures it for you. The guidebook has everything set up so that you are not having to do much work except picking what of the big list of attractions to do. I see a few people don't think it's worth the money as you can't complete anywhere near all the attractions on the list - we saw it as being money we paid for the organisation, skip the line options and choice. The bus tour is great but make sure you start it early; we were a bit dismayed at the fact that a lot of people get on and stay on for a whole circulation, rather than on and off at different stops, so does make it hard to get a seat up on the open top; if that really matters to you, you will probably have to wait. I would only recommend to those like myself who don't like to waste time and just want to get out there and do things, otherwise people who prefer to wander might feel they haven't got their money's worth.

Very nice dinner, no waiting time! Only bad thing was the coldness!

We got in really fast and immediately got a table, service was very fast and the dinner very good!! We couldn't eat everything, it was too much :) the waitress was nice and we loved the place! The only negative note was the coldness.. every time someone opened the door the wind got inside and it was very chilly, a bit uncomfortable while you're having dinner!! Overall we had a great time and a tasteful and filling dinner, I would definitely recommend the experience! They accept mobile vouchers but they will need you to send them the email you got, so they can print it and have you sign it. So if you already have it printed is better, but anyhow we could sit and eat in the meanwhile, so we had no inconvenience at all.

Great value for money, yet better making good plans

Easy to book, immediate confirmation. The CityPass counter is easy to find and the lady there was nice and helpful. We took 11 of the mentioned Museums/Galleries/Attractions of the Paris city. No waiting in the lines, no troubles at all and you control your spending for the trips. The wine tasting is super recommended and worth 30e alone, but you should book it in advanced. Around the Louvre area you can take about 4-6 museums in one intensive day. If i knew before that some of tbe attractions (yet, few of them) are available only in a specific day i would make better planning. Best way to explore the city, Great value for money

Great food great atmosphere great service

We arrived an hour early and even though we were told that we should have printed the get your guide voucher this wasn't a problem as we were able to email it to the restaurant and they printed it for us. After that initial hiccup it was a fantastic experience, the service was perfect and all the staff were extremely helpful, the food was gorgeous and huge helpings which is different for Paris, we had to sit a while before dessert as we were so full but this wasn't a problem to the staff as they invited us to go around looking at the memorabilia. All in all a great experience
