Full description
Learn about the history of Granada on this 3-hour guided tour of the Alhambra and Generalife summer palace. An informative guide will lead you around the vast complex, dating back more than 600 years. Marvel at a magnficent mix of Islamic art and culture.

Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984, the Alhambra was a courtly city where the sultans of the Nasrid Dynasty lived. In addition to the ornate palaces of the sultans, your guide will take you the military fortress for rewarding views of Granada and the surrounding mountains. Then walk over to the Generalife.

Built as a place of leisure for the Moorish Kings of Granada in the 14th century, its beautiful gardens are abundant with diverse flora and stunning water features. One writer poetically described it as the "water that cries."

This is the must-see. These places are magnificent both in atmosphere and architecture. Don't miss any of them. I met other tourists who said that they went to the garden only but no chance to get inside the palace. They should see the amazing palace too. Mr. Edu was a very friendly guide. He gave much information. I enjoyed a lot. Three hours seemed to pass very fast.

There are 2 cafes near the Alhambra ticket line. We asked around and unfortunately waited in the wrong cafe. We called the agency several times and they never picked up. Finally one other guide offered to help us and take us to we’re out guide would most likely be. However when he called the agency to try to help us they were rude to him and told him that since we were late it was their policy that we lost our money and she wouldn’t give him the info on where our guide was. Really bad policy as we were waiting for over 45minutes. There should be a central area for all guided tours to avoid this. We ended up being lucky and buying the last tickets to go into the garden and 2 other areas for less than 20 euros and we did a free tour with “My top tour” with a fantastic guide called Christina. My recommendation is do not waste your money with this tour company, buy tickets in advance and directly though the Alhambra website.
