What people are saying about Funchal

The right tour to explore West Madeira conveniently

The route was fine touching the most important locations in West Madeira. Roberto was a good guide, and a safe, careful driver. The bus was in good condition, and it was convenient. Many stops, plenty of time to explore them. So it was a nice excursion day worth the money.

Unforgettable tour - probably the best we have ever had!

As the title suggests this was probably the best tour my wife and I have ever had, and we have travelled a lot! This was the case for so many reasons. If you're reading this and in two minds of whether to book this trip, just go ahead and do it, and read the rest later. Our tour guide for the day, Greg, was absolutely brilliant. You are never sure how 8 hours in a 4x4 with only 3 other people you have never met is going to work out, but throughout the day he was full of energy, so passionate about his job and so much fun to spend the day with. And as a former 4x4 rally driver we also knew we were in safe hands! Madeira has one of the most incredible natural landscapes I have ever seen. Greg showed us some amazing places, some amazing views, and loads of hidden spots and areas tourists don't normally go to. The off road driving was a particular memorable highlight. We stopped in at a great local restaurant for lunch and a bar for poncha at the end. Just fantastic from start to finish.

Fantastic. Excellent guide, Nelson. Very knowledgeable.

Went out of his way to make our tour excellent. Loved learning about the flora and fauna. He bbq’d beef on laurel sticks for our lunch. A great personal touch. Yummy. Relaxing swim in the natural lava pools. Highly recommended tour.

A very pleasant way to spend a Sunday in Madeira

A lovely trip up into the hills stopping at small pretty villages. Plenty of time to visit the local farmers market to see how the locals shop for produce. Then onto the wicker shop where we had time for a coffee. Very enjoyable but dont rely on this trip as a shopping opportunity.

It was an enjoyable walk and a fabulous mealit

It was a lovely little town with amazing scenery. The restaurant we ate at had a beautiful decor with terrific service and authentic food from the island.
