What people are saying about Florence
We had a wonderful day with a bus full of people going out to Cinque Terre and Marco, our tour guide was spot on! He cares for each one of us like we were the only ones there and gave great directions to all of us as we journeyed From town to town. Thanks to Marco!!! Cinque Terre area itself, is something that has to be seen! Seeing photos just won't do it justice! Each town had an unique quality about them and it was great going from area to area on the local train and then riding the boat from the top of the 5 cities down to the bottom... Before we left to come back to Florence... it had a great view and made some wonderful memories. We wavered back and forth going to Cinque Terre because we had just gotten off a medditerran cruise and thought we had seen it all... but WOW... definitely a top ranked item on our vacation list of favorites! Again Marco-thanks!
The online description did not adequately prepare us for the treacherous journey that awaited us. You should be prepared with wearing hiking/exercise clothes and hiking boots/sneakers. The trail is very rocky and uneven. Many large steps both up and down, with not much safety railing. Be sure to bring water and sunscreen. Given the tight timeline to get to each city, there wasn't very much time to explore the cities, shop or swim in the sea. If you want to do more of those things then you should visit cities individually and take train between each at your own leisure. The guides Levania and Alessandro were helpful, but it was difficult to keep up with them given the pace and large size of group.
I am very happy I went on this tour. It was well organized thanks to Valentino and the meeting points were clear to understand, except for the last one but managed to figure it out with the help of other people in our group with the same colored sticker. Cinque Terre is a beautiful area. After arriving from the coach bus, I loved that you took a train to each village and after the 3rd village you took a large boat to the 4th village. The boat ride was great, so happy the weather was good and it didn’t get canceled. Being a 12 hour tour the day went fast. Highly recommend this tour.
Our guide was very good, the journey fine and cinque terre was beautiful. Unfortunately our visit coincided with the arrival of two cruise ships so the whole area was extremely busy. We were also subject to delays and cancellation of trains due to flooding in the previous days. This was obviously beyond the control of the tour company but it did mean that we were rushed and didn't quite get to see all that was promised. Overall I would recommend the trip.
Reasonable free time. Would have appreciated some written information specifying the rendez-vous after each stop. Document indicating and explaining the trip start meeting point is showing wrong location on a Google map!!! This made us almost miss the bus! This makes absolutely non sense since usually using a Google pin on a map is what gives the best information you would expect!
