What people are saying about Edinburgh

Excellent - tops the Edinburgh Dungeons with tangy historical flavour

A friend and I were working in Edinburgh over the weekend. Unlike myself, he isn't into crime, gruesome murders or history. I suggested the walking tour for our last night, having been so impressed with the Adam Lyall experience back in 2016. My friend was outstanded by the performance they gave us and I found it better than before. He also found the history interesting which was a bonus! The experience dates back to 1985, a role which has been passed down from student-to-student is still going strong. £10 per person isn't much for a walking tour in Edinburgh (including a book to take away), there are plenty in the city doing Harry Potter and other histories but none have as much entertainment value as this. It's both funny and scary in equal measure. Would strongly recommend if you're a tourist, sightseer or just looking for something different to the usual spiel. My aunt recommended this to me and now I'm making my recommendation to whoever's reading this.

Full of interest, well organised and great for families.

We went here with our sons aged 16, 13, 11, and everyone really enjoyed this tour under the streets of Edinburgh. The guide was fun and enthusiastic and painted a vivid picture of life in ancient Edinburgh, warts and all! For me the highlight was the actual Mary King’s Close itself which was well enough preserved to be able to imagine it as one of Edinburgh’s main streets with bustling market and busy homes and businesses. The tour lasted about an hour and wasn’t cheap, but the guide was great and there was lots to see and learn so I would certainly recommend this tour to others.

Was very good value for money and a great trip.

Really enjoyed our trip. As well as seeing the three great bridges from a different perspective we got to see Puffins and Seals as an extra treat. Had the option, for an extra fee, to disembark halfway to go on the island and afterwards regretted not doing that but was a great experience anyways. Would recommend this trip with interesting commentary all the way.

An enlightening sail on the Firth of Forth

I took friends on this mini cruise on The Firth of Forth. Not knowing what to expect we were blown away by the scenery and the weather was so kind to us all that it added to our overall enjoyment. The commentary was extremely helpful and seeing the marine life was icing on the cake. A great trip at a very affordable ticket price.

Brilliant experience, great for the whole family

We really enjoyed visiting The Real Mary’s Experience. Our Children, aged 10 and 12 years found it really interesting and great fun. We would really recommend a visit, well worth it.
