Full description
Your day begins as you leave Edinburgh at 9:00AM, following the Firth of Forth coastline until you arrive at Dirleton Castle. The castle is home to world-renowned Victorian gardens and a Guinness-awarded herbaceous border, in addition to being a garrison with more than 800 years of history. You will have 1.5 hours to explore its marvels and can choose to enter the castle, before you set path to the next garrison at 11:15AM.

By the North Sea shore, surrounded by legends and ghosts, the medieval castle of Tantallon awaits you. The castle watches sempiternally over Bass Rock, which itself is the home of the largest gannet colony in the world. From 11:30AM to 1:30PM you will have the chance to explore its surroundings, and can also opt to enter the castle's heart.

Following your exploration of these castles, enjoy the freedom to get to know North Berwick over 3 hours. Have lunch at a vast catalog of restaurants, and afterwards take a walk on its charming sandy beaches. North Berwick is also home to the Scottish Seabird Center, which you can choose to visit up until 4:45PM. You'll finally return to Edinburgh by the Firth of Forth whilst you admire its coastal landscapes, arriving back to the city center at 6:00PM.
