What people are saying about Edinburgh

Great experience, shame about the large group

Hostess was fab and very much got into her role, shared some interesting information which was great for the beginning of our trip as it really set the scene for the history of Edinburgh. However, we went on a Monday evening and was extremely surprised by the large group who accompanied us, there was 40+ people which on a tour with one speaker caused some issues...if you weren’t at the front you couldn’t hear a thing when in the grave yard, such a shame as we missed a lot of info/stories. Not sure if the day tours are less busy? The vaults were great, went into 2 separate vaults and was really able to grasp the history. Would recommend watching some stuff online just to prepare as we weren’t aware there was poltergeist activity in one of them...my partner wasn’t very comfortable but both felt surprisingly calm. Aside from the large group, definitely would recommend as a must see and experience if visiting!

Very interesting piece of history, but not scary.

Look, I did not expect McKenzie to come and dance for us like a little trained monkey...but having said that. This was not the least unsettling at all, and Greyfriars Kirkyard is really a quiet and cozy place on a late summer evening. As a historical tour however, this was easily worth 5 stars, in particular because of the guide, Charlie from Orkney, who is a gifted storyteller indeed. This has really sparked my interest for similar experiences. Maybe even in my own home town.

It was extremely interesting and great fun

I would highly recommend this tour, our guide was so friendly, introduced herself to every small group of people asking where they were from and if they were having a lovely holiday, which I thought was a lovely touch. Stephanie was a great story teller and made the whole tour fun and fascinating. We did the 8.30pm tour which added a little more atmosphere to it.

Had a fantastic time and our guide was very funny and informative

Was a brilliant night had so much fun our guide Ewan was so funny he made our night! I've been on other tours but he made our night with the perfect mix of fun fear and facts that as an Edinburgh girl I didn't know. Would 100% recommend it to anyone even after we got home we still had a giggle about some of the jokes and I did have to sleep with the light on

A fantastic friendly and spooky haunted tour

The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. She had me and my partner and everyone in stitches with her cheerful humour while giving us a brilliant detailed history of these eerie dark haunted vaults. The trip to Greyfriars was excellent and she had us enthralled. I would definitely return to this event and its well worth the money.
