Full description
Discover Newgrange, Knowth, Hill of Slane, and the Hill of Tara on this day tour. Newgrange was constructed in 3200 BC and is one of the world's most important archeological landscapes with its spectacular prehistoric passage tombs.

The historic ruins on the Hill of Slane offer spectacular views across an ancient Irish landscape. Explore this important early Christian settlement in County Louth Ireland, which was once associated with St Patrick. Slane Village is also famous for its rock festival's which have hosted performers including U2, Rolling Stones, Queen, Metallica, and many more.

The Hill of Tara is located near the River Boyne and is an archaeological complex that runs between Navan and Dunshaughlin in County Meath, Ireland. It contains a number of ancient monuments and according to tradition, was the seat of the High King of Ireland. The Boyne Valley has more than a third of western Europe's Megalithic art. From here you will enjoy spectacular views across most of Ireland.

This day tour of ancient Ireland will give you wonderful insights into Ireland's fascinating history.

Damien, our guide, was knowledgeable, personable and generous with recommendations for Dublin activities, pubs, restaurants, museums, exhibits and landmarks to see (as well as those to avoid). The van (and tour group) was small, and we got to the Newgrange site just before it opened in the morning, which is key to having a pleasant experience at the sites (Newgrange and Knowth). We stopped at monuments in Slane and then the Hill of Tara, getting history and background from Damien at each stop as well as along the way. What sets this company apart is that its guides genuinely care about their riders, often keeping in touch with them long after the tour is over. I would definitely book another tour with this company. Newgrange is a must for any traveler to Ireland.

Great tour in a small group of nine from worldwide places. Damian was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Loved Newgrange and it’s guide. Really felt the age of the place. Monasterboice turned on blue skies and stunning high crosses. Tara was a bit late in the day but interesting with Damian as our guide. Very enjoyable day out.
