Full description
Safari through the fascinating desert life. At a scheduled time, you will be picked up by the Safari Captain, who will take you to 60-minutes drive to the desert in a 4x4 Land Cruiser. Learn how Dubai originated from its humble beginnings and its trendsetting innovations while you ride.
Your first stop in the desert will be a rest area. Take a 25-minute break before your safari begins. Rest, and take advantage of the available bathroom facilities, while your vehicle readies for safari by adjusting tyre pressures. If you are game, take an optional Quad Bike ride while other convoys catch up.
The adventures begins, 30-45-minutes dune bashing ride deep in the Lehbab desert that is known for its peculiar red dunes. Try sandboarding (surfing over the dunes) for an extra thrill before going to Al Khayma Camp. Arrive at Al Khayma Desert Camp. You can visit a group of Camels for a desert ride. Entering the camp, the Safari Captain will point out all the activity slots in the camp, and lead you to your table in front of a Khayma (tent). This Khayma will have unlimited soft drinks supply and Kandora and Abaya - Arabian clothes for men and women. Be welcomed with Qahwa (Arabic coffee), Gaymat (sweets) and dates.
Feel refreshed before moving on to your next activity: a Camel ride. Once back, capture the scene’s beauty in your cameras & videos. Enjoy your free time at the Camp by trying the Bedouin specialties – Shisha smoking, Henna painting, Arabic makeover with the given Kandora and Abaya. Meet the Falcon expert and pose with the royal bird.
The evening entertainments start with Tanoura dance show in the center stage. You will then be notified when the buffet barbecue begins. After the meal, taste the local desserts, watch the belly dance, and relax. As a final treat, the camp will be completely switched off, giving the typical ambience of a desert night. Relax and meditate as you watch the stars, before finally being returned to your accommodation.
