Top sights in Dubai
The majestic fountains at the bottom of the Burj Khalifa are a sight to behold. With jets shooting 150 meters upwards, they're said to be visible from over 20 miles away, but we've picked out the best viewing points for you that are a little closer.
Get in a little retail therapy here, but also see great views of the fountain show! Have dinner at one of its restaurants facing the Burj Khalifa while admiring the view.
Are you a bookworm? If the answer is yes, browsing this Japanese bookshop (other languages also available) with the fountain show in the background may be your idea of perfection.
If you'd like to get up close on the action, this is a great spot as it's right on the Dubai Lake. Disembark from the abra here, buy your ticket, and enjoy!
By day, go shopping in Dubai's premier malls. By night, join the crowds on the bridge and marvel at the illuminated water and buildings adorning the city.
See the show while you float! From 5:45PM to 11:30PM (last abra departing at 11:00PM) you'll see the fountains themselves at the Dubai Creek, but also the patterns the lights make on the water!
It's a spectacular sight all year round!
The afternoon shows are at 1:00PM and 1:30PM, except on Fridays, when it's 1:30PM and 2:00PM. In the evenings, the shows occur every 30 minutes, between the hours of 6:00PM and 11:00PM.
Fountain lake rides in the evening are 65 AED per person. You can get good value for money by including the fountain viewing as part of a larger Dubai tour.

What people are saying about Dubai Fountains
Overall it was amazing experience - we went on a ride around the lake about 10mph (16km/h), because we went at night time the lights and scene looked amazing plus it wasn’t too hot. Once the ride around was over the driver paused at a good location to watched the fountain display. That was stunning !!! The water and music were so in sync. I would definitely recommed it - they take your photos before you get on and once when your settled in the boat - with the option to purchase later (my sister loved the one on the boat so she purchased it for 75aed). I felt for 1 photo 75aed was expensive but thats your choice. The ride only lasted just over 15mins - i felt that was really short. But it was worth it. If price is your main area of hesistation you can watch the water display from the sides which is just as memorising.
I had booked this trip from England, for my family and I. Amira our travel guide was fantastic speaking English and German, very impressive! We had a small tour of only 7 people so we felt very special. The shuttle picks you up from your hotel and drops you back there, which is perfect and so convenient. You see SO much, more or less of everything in Dubai, in such a short space of time. If you are in Dubai for a few days, it is great. Everything is explained in so much detail and you learn so much about how fantastic Dubai really is. Fantastic service and a fantastic activity. Thank you so much!
The views are indeed breathtaking. the guide and Sky lounge are nice- average except for the fact that because of the price not many people opt for it- so less crowded less wait. Not sure if it wa sthe holiday or the way things are ( we went up on the day of Eid) but it took us 45 minutes to get from the mall entrance to the will call counter and then to the At the Top counter- we had a baby stroller and a child with us- wish we had known. Ended up missing the entire sunset slot that we had paid for due to the lack of better instructions on how to get to the At The Top counter.
This is a good way to see both the old Dubai and the new (modern) Dubai in one day. There are 3 different routes that together cover Dubai. The commentary provides useful information on the history and culture of Dubai and the UAE. Note that together the three routes take about 6 hours to get through without jumping on and off. At unexpected times of the day there can be traffic on some of the routes. There was live English commentary on one of the buses along the red route.
We should have taken the ride a little later in the evening. The fountain show was nice but it would have been even better to view it in the dark. Also, it would have been nice to be given some explanation of the building and areas that we travel in and through during the ride.
