Full description
The tour starts at Split’s famous green market, hear a little about how the market ticks on a daily basis and get to sample some delicious local cheeses and oils (try three local cheeses).

After that, walk through green market noting and meeting some of the people who sell cured meats, fruits, vegetables, honey and try some of the fresh produce, which could be; “soparnik” (kale) pastry, almonds, orange crust dipped in sugar, the list is endless.

Next, tour the palace area, where you hear some of Split’s rich history and see the many wonderful historic sites all around. On route try out some local handmade chocolates and stop off for a Split traditional pastry. Pass by the magnificent Bokeria restaurant and Villa Spiza, visited and praised by Rick Stein in his Venice to Istanbul series and a highly prized Split restaurant by the locals. Their menu changes daily and they’ll only cook what’s fresh on the day.

Then, arrive at the 120 year-old bustling Split fish-market. You peruse the daily catch, meet the locals and learn how to select the very freshest fish of the day.

Tour the City in a leisurely way to gain an understanding of the history and culture of Split and just allow yourself to feel the vibe of the City and ask any questions as you pass by, stopping for that most essential Split coffee and some traditional cookies. Then, visit Restaurant Sug, a traditional Split restaurant. Here you are served four different local dishes, all lovingly prepared, fresh on the day and following traditional local Split recipes. You can try a bit of everything and have its provenance explained to you.

You’ll not leave this tour hungry and there’s always those cookies for later.
