Full description
Enjoy a full-day trip to Litchfield National Park from Darwin. See lush monsoon forests, termite mounds, unusual rock formations, waterfalls, and cascades. The park includes much of the spectacular Tabletop Range, a wide sandstone plateau surrounded by cliffs. During the green season 4 major waterfalls thunder down from the cliffs to tropical rock pools below. During the dry season, the waterfalls flow more gently, making the waterholes perfect spots for a refreshing swim. You’ll follow the Stuart Highway via the town of Batchelor to reach Litchfield National Park. Visit the park’s main waterfalls, stopping first at Florence Falls, where you’ll enjoy a scenic and interpretive bush and monsoon vine forest walk. You can also go for a swim by making your way down the stairs to the plunge pool below. Continue on to Tolmer Falls and see water cascading down into a deep waterhole at the base of the falls. Visit Wangi Falls, which features a large, crystal-clear pool that’s a perfect spot for a cool dip. You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by the park’s natural wonders.

I knew it would be harder for me in a moon boot & crutches but I participated in everything and the coach driver reckoned I could do the walk & 135 steps/stairs to the Florence Falls & I did. It was SO worth it tho deliciously cooling water falling from the waterfalls stunning scenery. I was not the only tired one come days end.

The driver was excellent and very informative. The only negative was trying to contact AAPT to narrow the pick up time down from a ridiculous one hour to 15 minutes. Needless to say not enough staff manning the phones. The same today for tomorrow's tour. Hung up after wasting 40 minutes. Also the seat belts in the bus are to tight and make the trip a little uncomfortable.

Excellent tour. Troy was incredibly informative. The bus was the most comfortable I've ever travelled in and included USB ports to charge your phone. The only thing AAT Kings could improve on is their communication regarding pickup times and locations. Was unable to confirm this with them prior and they do not have anyone responding to e-mails or answering calls outside of weekday business hours which is strange for a tour company.
