What people are saying about Darwin

Great way to see lots of different things!

Nothing on website about Seniors' Discount! I found I spent a lot of effort keeping track of the time when anticipating the next bus/activity. I missed the last bus - perhaps it went a little early? - so had to walk around to where the lift is and back to terminal. (It was not a problem!) And I'm not sure what could be done about this ... some places too complex to have driver come in and give a whistle! I had a drink when I went to the Mil. Museum, so looked at outdoor exhibits first. When I went back to the desk there was no one to collect tickets. Later the bus driver had to run back in with several people's tickets, otherwise confusion over whether the bus company owed the M. Museum money or v. versa. Having only one way to buy tickets might be easier for all in every way! Perhaps it could be mentioned by the drivers that Parap is only open in the mornings. I was planning that for the afternoon, not wanting to carry shopping around with me, but ... too late!

Great tour, especially for bird watchers!

Great tour lead by Mon! She was very fun and enthusiastic and engaged the whole group. She’s also a great cook! I enjoyed the tour very much. There was time for some napping on the bus, relaxing in the pool or at the waterfalls, some hiking, having a beer at the campsite at night, gaining more cultural knowledge and spotting wildlife. It truly felt like a mini vacation put in 3 days. There were also some pointers why I don’t give 5 stars. I felt like the tour was a little bit to focused on bird watching. I was expecting more of the general wildlife spotting and not so much focus on the birds. Might depend on the group though. I learned a lot but after 5 or 6 different species I’ve seen enough birds for a year. I would've liked some more time at the termite mounds. This part felt a bit rushed. Overall I think the tour has a very good pace. Definitely book this tour if you’re having doubts!

tour was good but unhappy with GYG not showing us as Seniors.

The AAT Kings tour was very good though taxing and extended in duration to about 15 hours due to an injury to one of the group. Also, my wife and I were unhappy that we had to pay full ticket costs for entry to the National Park because GYG had not shown us as Seniors in the list of passengers supplied to the tour company, AAT Kings. This cost us an extra $20. Perhaps GYG will refund the difference? If you book direct with AATKings the ticket price is included saving inconvenience and possible embarrassment compared with being singled out to pay before the bus departs. You should seriously consider the overnight option.

A long day but so well run and managed by AAT Kings!

This was a fantastic tour a long day but so worth it for the comfort and way it was managed. The bus driver and assistant made it so enjoyable communication and presentation really well done. I would thoroughly recommend this tour for people who want to experience this part of the Northern Territory. Loved the morning tea/dinner stops, Edith Falls stop lunch (really nice) and the cruise down the Katherine Gorge with it's passionate informative guide so well done! You do have to be prepared for an extra long day because there are many kilometers covered.

Edith Falls & the boat thru Kathrine Gorge a really nice experience.

The return bus trip was tiring, but had stops for morning tea(or b/feast) & night meal at a roadhouse/restaurant along the way which served good food & bar drinks if required. More time swimming at the Falls or being able to have a swim at the Gorge like other tourists would have been nice.
