Full description
Climb aboard an oak passenger boat at Dalvik Harbor in North Iceland and set sail in search of Arctic whales and other marine life. The 3-hour tour takes you out to the wild Arctic seas off Akureyri, the capital of north Iceland.

Arctic Sea Tours only operate one boat, to offer a more intimate tour. With 4 departures throughout the summer, each tour is designed to get you close to the visiting humpback and minke whales, as well as see some playful dolphins. With an emphasis on personal service, you will experience whale watching, sea angling, and a demonstration of how to cut and grill fresh fish.

Hot drinks and refreshments are served on board, and extra clothes are available to keep off the bracing weather. During the summer of 2011, whales were spotted on 99% of the tours, including humpback whales on 96% of the tours. You will also have a good chance to see white beaked dolphins (spotted on 50% of the tours in 2011), and harbor porpoise (50% of the tours). Look out too for Arctic birds, including the beautiful puffin.

Upon your return to Dalvik Harbor, watch a demonstration of how to cut and cook fresh fish, before the end of the tour services.
Includes
  • Hot drinks and refreshments

Amazing trip with great guides and stunning views!

We have been on other whale watching trips in the world, but this one was awesome! Not only did we see a few humback whales, but the views are beautiful! It was also a great surprise that we were able to fish and to ha e cooked up for us. Well worth the price and going to Northern Iceland was well worth the trip! Highly recommended!

A lot of whales in a beautiful fjord

We saw at least 6-7 whales during our tour starting from Dalvik. The fjord is beautiful, surrounded by snowy mountains and the crew was very nice. We didn't stay for the fish barbecue after the tour where they grilled the fish we had catched at the end of the tour, but the tour is definitely worth it!
