I went to the Dali Exhibition in Berlin this weekend and took my GYG mobile voucher. However, when I got there they did not accept it. Instead they had me send them the voucher that I received via email so they could print it for me. They told me they do not accept mobile vouchers and therefore the information that I received in my GYG confirmation email was wrong. They were very nice/helpful and the exhibition was great - but this should be fixed on the website and follow up instructions.
The exhibition is good and ordering online went all fine. I simply showed the voucher on my mobile at the desk and everything was ok. The exhibition mainly displays the later work of Dali. Mostly sketches and drawings. I expected to see some paintings and more of his earlier, more personal work. That was a bit disappointing, but I still learned a lot and spent a good couple of hours there.
It was a great exhibition to learn more about Dali if you already have a background knowledge about the artist. It was interesting to see the videos Dali worked on, especially the episode of his cooperation with Hitchcock. I also liked the examples of TV and magazine ads that Dali participated in.
Focus of the exhibition is rather on Dali's graphical work than his paintures. If you want to learn more about the symbols he uses spend some extra money on a guided tour. I enjoyed it very much.
It was not easy to get the tickets at Alexander plats but once that was done it was easy to get around the city. As there were so many places that I wanted to see the easy city pass was useful.
