Full description
The journey to the Son Tra Peninsula (Monkey Mountain) from the central city of Da Nang is 10 km to the North-East. You will take motorbikes to the Thuan Phuoc Bridge, one of the most important additions to Da Nang's transit system which is the largest suspension bridge in Vietnam and connects Da Nang's city center with the urban district of Son Tra. Next you’ll start to ascend Monkey Mountain to discover its delights, including the Ban Co (chess broad) peek with its panoramic view of Da Nang city. You’ll then keep on moving up until you get to the unique Banyan tree. This over-1000-year-old banyan tree on Da Nang’s Son Tra Peninsula has drawn a great deal of attention from local residents and visitors due to its impressive size and age.

After 1 hour of enjoying the sights and views, you will leave for Linh Ung pagoda, which features the highest Buddha statue in Viet Nam, at 69m. You’ll move on to have lunch at Bai But and then to Dong Dinh museum. You’ll continue your descent, stopping on the way at a great place to take pictures, the local fishing village, which is well-known for the fish sauce it produces. It is also very famous for its many types of mam (salted fish) such as mam nem (a type of fish sauce, made from small fish or small shrimps) and mam ruoc (fermented shrimp paste). The village’s mam ruoc, in particular, is very popular with the city’s people. The mam products are an indispensable dipping sauce with the daily meals of residents in the central region.
