What people are saying about Cu Chi Tunnels

Friendly and informative guide and interesting 'museum'

Most of the tour is above ground through the jungle, with effective reproductions of living conditions and masses of information and stats about the war years and how the Vietnamese functioned and fought in the tunnels. It focuses on their resilience and resourcefulness, though there are stark reminders of the gruesomeness of this particular war. Visitors have an opportunity to go in to a small section of the tunnels to get an enhanced sense of how it would have felt to live in these conditions. Our guide Steven was knowledgeable, friendly and well organised keeping our small group of mixed ages and nationality together. He reminded us there were 'no winners' in this war - which is one of the main things I took away, although the propaganda film suggests different. I recommend for a different, immersive way of learning about the Vietnam war.

Loads of history and well organised tour

Jimmy, our guide was very nice and gave us loads of information about what happened in Cu Chi and in general about the war. His English was sometimes difficult to understand but we got the overall points and we could clearly see that he had loads of knowledge, it was just a bit of a language barrier. The tunnels are of course the highlight and although narrow, there are 6 exits so if you are feeling that you can't manage it, you can leave every 20 metres or so. I left at the 4th exit and it was very good, glad I did it and overall, we were very glad we did this tour to know more about their history. Ah, they make an initial stop in a shop where handicapped people make crafts and to use the toilets.

Great tour by an excellent guide called Van and our driver An.

We booked this tour very last-minute becauae it worked out cheaper than a grab to/from Cu Chi, and were weren't sure what to expect. Extreme last minute booking was no problem and we were picked up from our hotel the following morning. Our guide, Van, was excellent and our driver, An, was great too. We learned a lot about the American invasion of Vietnam, and the lengths that the Vietnamese people went to to survive and overcome the occupation. Only a half day tour too, so it leaves the rest of the day to sightsee around Saigon.

A greater understanding of what the people went through.

The first stop is a warehouse filled with amazing art work by the people affected by Agent Orange. This is a great opportunity to buy a gift and have it shipped home, i did. The Tunnels are very tight for anyone of a larger size like me but the others in the group could go down the reproduced tunnels for tourists. The tunnels we as tourists see are not the same as the locals view. Theres are further away. A very humbling and upsetting day but well worth the trip.

Viet was a great tour guide with a lot of knowledge and personality

Viet was a great tour guide, who shared interesting stories and perspectives both on the bus and at the tunnels. By booking online, the bus was able to pick us up at our hotel in District 1, which was extremely convenient. The tour was well worth the price, especially at the discounted low-season rate. The bus ride was longer than i expected (1.5+ hrs), but was well worth it to get a chance to see the tunnels.
