We, a family of 4 with 2 girls of 13 and 10, visited the Alhambra in early January on a slightly wet and very cold day. Despite the weather it was a truly memorable experience. The monument lived up to all the reviews we had read, beautiful gardens of Generalife and stunning Nasrid Palaces and almost no other visitors at that time! My only complaint was the price I paid. I booked through Get Your Guide and paid €115 for 4 tickets with audio guide. I knew I was paying almost as much as a guided tour but with 2 young children I did not want to be tied to a 3-hour tour. When we arrived we discovered there were hardly any visitors and plenty of tickets available on the door at a cost of €14.75 for adults and free for children under 12! I understand there are admin costs but being charged almost 300% when tickets were fully available at face value left a very bad taste. I am still glad we went but hate being left with the feeling of having been ripped off.

My best experiment in Andalousia! The visit was supposed to be with an audioguide but because of covid, Getyourguide employed local guides to make the guided visit. It began on August 12th at 10:30am and ended around 2pm. The guide, Mar was simply awesome: erudite, effective, she managed the covid rules changements nicely and made us at ease. We visited the place like royals and she generously shared informations and answers. No need to say: the place is gorgeous, even more than what I was expecting. Thank you Getyourguide and muchas gracias Mar.

If you have a limited time in Granada this tour of the Alhambra and Generalife is the best thing you can do. Our guide gave us so much information about the history of this Palace and gardens. Time was made available for a snack and drink break (this is not provided by the tour). After our tour we were able to look and walk around the Alhambra and gardens at our own pace. Our family group all thought the tour worthwhile.

Go early as it gets crowded later in the day. The Alhambra was overwhelming in terms of size and condition with outstanding views. I would strongly recommend that you include the palaces and gardens in your ticket as they are incredibly beautiful.

A 3 hour walk with a couple of breaks, a knowledgeable guide and plenty of time to look at all the sites and take photos. Two languages works well as you have time to look around while Spanish is being spoken.
