What people are saying about Colosseum

Informative, enjoyable and a well organised tour.

It was wonderful to have the knowledge and passion of an archaeologist and University lecturer guide us around the Colosseum and Roman forum. They made us imagine what it was like centuries ago, the politics, living conditions and the way the law worked. The tour was so interesting, the time passed so quickly. I would recommend the late afternoon time slot as it was cooler and the crowds had dissipated somewhat.

Definitely worth getting tickets beforehand.

I would definitely recommend purchasing tickets online, skip the line is the way to go as the queue without is very long. They are very strict on entrance times so don't turn up too early, 10 mins before is all they will allow - and the Colosseum was definitely worth a visit. For Roman Forum/Palatine Hill you have to queue, no skip the line unfortunately, but the queue seemed to move fairly quickly.

Loved the colosseum. Did NOT love the endless harrassment outside.

This visit would have been so much better if we hadn't been harassed outside by people offering to sell us tickets, be our guides, etc. Also, we tried to go into the Forum the next day as we ran out of time. You CANNOT get into the Forum for free, no matter what Trip Advisor tells you! If we'd known this we would have made the effort to go there the same day as the Colosseum and Palatine Hill.

loved it but the experience could be updated and more inter-active

Really loved all 3 experiences, (forum, paletine hill and colosseum) and the value was good for the money. We paid for a tour guide on top and learned alot from them, many museums these days bring the site to 'life' by having images of how it might have been etc (there were some at Paletine Hill) and these would have been good elsewhere (to help you see what life was like when it wasn't ruins)

Absolutely worth the time and money. I could have spent days listening

Paul who took us through Capital Hill had an amazing wealth of knowledge and the right amount of passion that he got us super into the history and what happened around the area. I cannot recommend his talk enough! Seeing the underground and higher levels of the Coliseum made it a much better experience than I could have expected.
