What people are saying about Christchurch

A wonderful day tour - worthy of Tolkein fans, and the agnostic!

Why just view Ian Brodie's fine book (2004, 2011) on the filming locations of LOR - when you can immerse yourself in a wonderful full day tour from Christchurch? Mark was a very knowledgeable guide, providing not only photos and props but also a great wealth of information on New Zealand and its physical, biological, and botanical history - and importantly its social and cultural history. The weather was great (and not windy, quite unusual apparently) and we enjoyed our 14 seater 6 wheel drive vehicle to Mt Potts station , and subsequently our 200m walk to the peak of Mt Sunday - home to King Theoden's (golden) hall. (Yes, apparently gold leaf was used in crafting the temporary set). Attempts were made by my fellow travellers to wield The Sword, but I contented myself with carrying Sting back from the summit to our vehicle parked at the base. It did not glow blue - to my relief. Helm's Deep was identified, across the plain/'river'; and the snow retreating from the mountain caps. Yes!

A brilliant package we spread over two days and worked brilliantly.

We are 'locals' from Christchurch but haven't been into central city much since the earthquake. The weather on Saturday was overcast and drizzly but not cold. We found out that it worked extremely well taking our time on the trams, exploring the new shopping centrespree and enjoying a leisurely lunch before doing the last garden tour for the day. On Sunday we caught the shuttle to the Gondola and had a stunning 360° view. We finished the tour with the punting on the Avon and found it very peaceful and relaxing. Fantastic tour guides right through and a fantastic experience.

An unforgettable and amazing experience!!

Hassle-Free (HF) proactively reached out to me once the purchase was done to arrange pick up and all. Then, i was already pretty wow-ed by the service. It was a rainy morning that day and to play safe, i emailed HF to confirm if the tour was a go since i had some events cancelled due to the weather. They were prompt in their responses. Gaike was our guide that day, very attentive and friendly. We had an amazing time that day at Edoras. Lol. The weather was perfect.. the group cohesive. Thanks Gaike, for taking us out.

Outstanding guide, Maossie tours was fantastic

Mr Gary was a caring guide. His tour guidance and commentary in English was superb. Great food, sights, convenient Mercedes mini bus/van. Thanks!

The tour guide is an excellent story teller.

There was a disconnection between the booking staff and the tour guide. The lunch was previously booked. But the tour guide was not informed.
