Aon our chef was just brilliant. An amazing experience in a wonderful setting. A chance to work with a chef and cook 4 dishes, make one paste and sauce from scratch, with individual tutition along the way We received 40 recipes to try at home. A wonderful experience and great value for money. Popped to the local wholesale food market in a songthaw for a crash course in Thai local ingredients - a very eye opening 35 minutes. Aon had a lovely assistant sous chef who prepped some of the food and cleared away as we prepared and chopped our ingredients. With step by step instructions and continuous guidance we had a fabulous 4 course meal fit for a kings. This was one of my ambitions, to cook Thai dishes in Thailand, a perfect place excellent chef and sous chef and wonderful ingredients. A fantastic experience many thanks Aon and team. Best regards Ali and Kev

Fun, knowledge gaining, but much time spent in market

The food tour in Chiang Mai was a solid tour of the local food culture. We started off at a small restaurant and ate a dish called Khao Soi which was phenomenal, then we visited a local market and learned about various fruits, vegetables, and other popular foods. The majority of the tour was spent in the market, which got a little tiring, but we were able to sample things such as beef pastry cakes, candies, sausage, and even silkworm, crickets, and some kind of brain. These were less dishes and more individual items, but still a good taste of Thailand. Finally we drank local tea and wrapped up the tour with some locally made ice cream. Overall the tour was good, just be ready for a lot of standing in the market with small bite-sized portions during that part of the tour.

Fun, informative, best thing we did in Chiang Mai!

Can't say enough good things about this class and our chef/instructor. Learned so much, and made (and ate!) the most delicious food. The setting was gorgeous, the ingredients fresh as could be to make all from-scratch dishes, and the set up perfect, as everyone had their own work station. A really enjoulyable time, and definitely a highlight of our trip.

Great and well organized experience at a lovely farm

This course has overfilled all our expactations!!! A very nice and lovely trainer, showed us very easy how to cook Thai food. Very good ingredience has been used and been showed to us before in the garden of the farm. The farm is very big and the kitchen was very well prepared. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed our meal outside. Hardly recommended!!!!

Our driver and guide were both excellent

There needs to be more time allotted for shopping. Or tell people to buy things when they first walk through the mountain top vendors. We would have bought considerably more items but there just wasn't the time. Also we were led to believe there would be a more extensive history about the opium trade. We only saw a few plants and that was it.
