From Chiang Mai: Chiang Dao Valley Kayaking
- Transportation included
- Duration: 1 day
This tour could be almost perfect except for the fact that the transportation is in a van with no windows. The guides sit in the front with windows and AC and the clients sit in the back , which is ok, but seating there in open air means you're exposed to all the fuel and smoke of the traffic and that made us very dizzy and with motion sickness before and after the tour, which is about 3 hrs. Other than that , the cave is super cool, guides super fun and the kayaking was super cool. Be prepare for some falling cause it's not the most quiet river.
The cave was incredible! Much larger than I had anticipated. Our guide pointed out so many things that we would have missed. The kayaking was awesome. Nice little river for beginners. The weather was fantastic for it. Our guide was really personable & fun & spoke excellent English. He really seems to enjoy his job (I never did catch his name though)! (February 18, 2019)
It was quiet season so I got driven there by myself in a private guide the guides name was called Sunny who is as very professional - he called the day before to make sure everything was ok and even spoke to my hotel to make sure I got the message - he was there on time in the morning and very helpful through out the day - top guide!!
I liked the kayaks very much. Beautifull views, tranquile, you are pedalling by yourslef all the way (the kayaks are personal, not for pairs). Has a bit of asrenalin, but not too complex to handle. The cave was less intersting.
Nicy was an excellent and knowledgeable guide. I had a great time asking all kind of question, which she answers for. The cave was beautiful and a great possibility to escape noisy Chiang Mai.
