Got a pair of these 48hr cards for the wife and I, and day one we went to Lisbon Story and then up the hill into Alfama to see the Castle of St. George. It saved us the entrance fee to Lisbon Story, but public transportation up to the Castle was an absolute no-go (this is on a sunny Saturday in April to be fair) because the trolleys were jam packed to the point of being ridiculous, and the bus that was supposed to do the same route up the hill every 15 minutes never showed up despite us waiting for 45 minutes. And to top it off the Castle entrance fee was not included with the card, so day one was a net loss for using the Lisbon card. Day two was a much different story, we took several buses (doing this in conjunction with Google maps is brilliant because Google tells you exactly what buses to take) which were all on time, and managed to see several the national palace, St Jerome's monastery, and could easily have squeezed in one or two others if we chose.
Purchased the 3 day Yellow Bus pass for my parents, and my brother and I so that we could tour around Lisbon. This pass provides incredible value and it is such an easy way to get around this awesome city. Even though we were travelling in winter season and some routes of the Yellow Bus operate on a slightly modified schedule, the buses were always on time. The boat pass provided a really fun way to see another side of Lisbon. And of course, no trip to Lisbon is complete without a tram ride through Alfama, Baixa, Bairro Alta and beyond. We also used the pass to take the Santa Justa Elevator. You really can't beat the value of this pass especially when in Lisbon for three days!
We stayed on the bus for the whole route and came back the next day to see the boat tour and the hills tour on the Tram. The audio narration did not work on the bus but worked on the Tram. We had great weather (21C) for the whole visit. Cannot imagine how miserable it would be with inclement weather.
We took the Metro a lot, busses, trams, even trains all with the Lisbon card, 72 hours. We took a train to Sintra. Not to be missed. It is very unique. We did museums, the arch, the Lisbon Story Centre, etc
The bus, boat and trams were excellent systems to allow for view of the whole city for new visitors. Frequently the earphones did not work and the drivers were more often than not rude.
