What people are saying about Ceske Budejovice
We had the privilege of touring with Petr from Gray Line in Prague. His depth of knowledge of the historical facts was astounding. He was very willing to answer any and all questions. This made the trip "come alive' for us and created a wonderful camaraderie as we spent over 6 hours in the touring van with him. The tour of the Rosenberg Palace was amazing in terms of the preservation of the furnishings from the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries. The town of Cesky Krumlov is a jewel and is so perfect it could be a movie set! If you have time, spend the night in this magical town. If you have only a short visit to Prague be sure to fit this trip in on your schedule and definitely request "Petr" from Gray LIne Tours. He was just superb.
Lovely excursion. Cesky Krumlov is well worth the drive! It is an absolutely beautiful town. Everything was very well managed there. Especially loved lunch and the Castle tour, despite the castle guide being a bit ornery lol. Wish we had a bit more time in Cesky Budejovice, but if nothing else, it was nice to get a stopover to break up the ride to Cesky Krumlov. Just a few things to be aware of: with 9 of us in a van, it got very hot and a bit cramped inside - it is a long ride. Also, just expect to hit traffic and be back A little later than expected. If you plan for that, then you shouldn't have any unexpected bad surprises.
Cesky krumlov is an amazing place..very beautiful.. Ceske Budejovice is a waste of a place in this package..just stopped for 10-15 mins with not worth... Don't opt for it. Spent extra 1 hr in total.. instead spend time at krumlov.. Food option for vegetarians are useless.. drinks were good. Trip delayed by 30 mins because of old age guys managing the trip. Be prepared for 5-6 hours travel time..if weekend then time might increase. Inside castle tour was good and properly managed. Place is worth going for all age group..
Two beautiful towns- absolutely worth visiting....some tours only do Cesky Krumlov but that's a loss. Our guide Peter was superb- never put us under pressure, was always there to help and tell us about his country. The vehicle was very comfortable and it was good we came back through more rural roads and got a feel for the country. The meal was very good quality in a lovely building.
The tour was organised very well and in a comfortable minivan. Stops were good both to view interesting areas and short breaks. The only item I wish to highlight, is that it would be more appropriate if an hour is given to stroll around the Castle village and adjacent streets, have some more time to view souvenirs and view shops. The guide was very professional and knowledgeable.
