Cartagena: Fortress of Navidad Sightseeing Cruise
- Learn about the history of the Fortress of Navidad
- See the views from the Bay of Cartagena
- Access the fortress by boat
Currently, the Fortress of Navidad is the Interpretation Center of the Defensive Architecture in Cartagena and the Mediterranean. It provides an overview of the different defenses that the port has had throughout its history, as well as information about what everyday life was like in a fortress of such nature.
The former dormitories of the establishment were used as an exhibition space to show photos of the forts and batteries of Cartagena Port, 1901. The original photo album is in the Royal Library of the Royal Palace in Madrid. This album was a gift from the city of Cartagena to King Alfonso XIII.
Next to the Lighthouse of Navidad (Faro de Navidad) is the right bank of the Bay of Cartagena. On this tour, the fortress will be accessed by a tourist boat making a stop at the fortress.
