Full description
This fun-packed day starts with a tour at the largest fortress in Wales, the 13th century Caerphilly Castle.  Explore the leaning tower which out-leans Pisa, walk the spiral staircase to the top of the Constable's Tower, and take amazing photos on the battlement walkways. View the water defenses which protected the castle, now inhabited by flocks of swans and ducks. This castle has even been a Dr. Who filming location on a number of occasions. There are a few occasions when Caerphilly Castle is closed to visitors due to filming or events. On these occasions the tour will walk outside the castle grounds and water defences offering excellent photo opportunities.

Heading north, you’ll drive through the Welsh valleys and enter the Brecon Beacons National Park for a tour of the stunning landscape. This area was re-shaped by the Ice Age to form lush rolling hills and valleys. You’ll get excellent views of the Black Mountains, Brecon Beacons, Fforest Fawr, charming villages and the canal.
After a lunch and shopping break, continue on your tour with a walk in Brecon Beacons, followed by a stop at Libanus Visitors’ Center. The final part of your tour sees you travelling further west on a single-track road through hidden valleys to another high point – here, you’ll experience some of the most beautiful scenery that Wales has to offer. Take a short walk to a Bronze Age Standing Stone where you can touch the stone claimed to have mystical powers. Finally, stop in a charming village with a medieval church and ancient Yew trees. Return to Cardiff by approximately 5:30 PM.
