If your main focus is drinking wine, we can only recommend you this wine tasting tour! In total you get to taste at least 22 different wines in 4 different estates. Tania is a great tour guide and we enjoyed our time to the fullest. She was very knowledgeable and super fun! If you want to see more of the regions as well, then you probably need to book another one with less visits. As you get tastings on 4 vineyards, you drive from tasting to tasting, but don't really have much time to spend to see the villages. We addressed already that we would not go back to one of the estates as none of our group enjoyed their wine, but we also understand that everyone's taste is different. The place although is absolutely beautiful!
Had a great time doing this tour: Everything was well organized, the guides were knowledgeable, beautiful drive down to Hermanus, the whales were amazing to watch! Two recommendations: 1) Book through the local partner directly as it's about 20 pounds cheaper than booking through this website. 2) Book the whale watching boat tour as a combo package with your trip to Hermanus as it will save you some money too.
Our tour guide, Uriel, definitely made the tour unforgettable. He was really knowledgeable and friendly and took us to some great wineries. We definitely recommend Uriel as a guide! For wineries, Marianne has amazing wine, Clos Malverne great views and unique wine and ice cream pairings - definitely recommend visiting both.
The wine estates and wine farms visited had character and style. Not only good wines and food but also magical surrounding environments. Our guide Donovan was funny and caring apart from very knowledgeable about the subject. A bit to miss day out.
Mucky has done such a great job of providing interesting information (not just about the route but about SA in general), pointing out things on the way - never in a boring lecturing style but rather in a rather entertaining and easy to follow way.
