Full description
Visit the historic town of Szentendre on a half-day sightseeing tour from Budapest, traveling by air-conditioned vehicle for up to 6 people. Home to Serbians and Bulgarians in the Middle Ages, the town has been populated for well over a millennium, and in Roman times was known as Ulcisia Castra (Wolf Castle).

Today it is home to some beautiful Orthodox churches, including the mid 18th-century Blagovestenska Church, built by Greek settlers. You will also see the baroque Cross of Fő tér (Main Square), and the Serbian merchant houses of the winding streets that surround it.

Full of bohemian bars, bookshops, galleries and atmospheric restaurants, in the summer Szentendre plays host to many open air festivals, while Christmas is a time to browse for handmade crafts as you sip mulled wine at the open air Christmas Market.

On almost every corner you will find something worth taking a picture of, or a shop selling unique souvenir items, from paintings to graphics offered by artists working on the street. Or if you prefer, you can explore the ceramic art of Margit Kovács in the expansive Margit Kovács Museum just off Fo tér. Lunch and dinner can also be arranged on request.
