My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Ghent and Bruges. Excellent recommendations were made of things to do during our free time. Our guide, Josephine, was very knowledgeable and passionate about the two cities. Ghent was particularly lovely and not nearly so busy. I wish we had more time there. Bruges was beautiful and we had enough time to do a little boat tour (an extra 10€ charge) but worth doing. One word of caution, the Brussel City tours all leave precisely on time. If you are late the bus leaves. While this didn’t impact us on our tour an other participant was left behind. I feel that tour companies undertake a certain amount of responsibility to ensure all participants return safely.
Our guide Victoria gave us a beautiful rendition of history in the present. Although a day is really not enough time to spend in either country, Victoria fit as much as she could into the time we had. She took us to buildings, churches, town squares, market places giving us the background of what it meant to both the nobels and the common folk. She was really helpful with us getting around in our free time. I’d recommend taking the boat trip in Bruges which is an additional cost to see the city from its waterways. The bus was comfortable and air conditioned. I always have a book with me and we were only on the bus for two hours maximum. A perfect day trip if you don’t have much time in Belgium.
The Guides Knowledge was Outstanding , they made every effort to add areas and points of interest to the Tour for everyone on the Tour. Local knowledge and stops along the way added to the Experience The Museum and Lunch stop was excellent , I would recommend this Tour.
The guide was very knowledgeable but he was not sensitive to discomfort of his customers on such a cold & Windy day. He could have reduced his presentation at each stop by 50%. Seemed more intent on his spiel Than on his customers who were exhausted by the trip.
Two cities that are definitely worth visiting. We were super comfortable throughout the whole thing and it was care free. Our tour guide Veronica Perez was extremely friendly, clear, and passionate about the history, which made the whole thing enjoyable for all.
