What people are saying about Berlinische Galerie
We really liked the fact that we received the instant confirmation via email after creating the booking; some minutes later we downloaded the app and got the mobile vouchers on our phone, which managed to save our life during a busy and cold Sunday in Berlin where people were sitting in a big line outside the museum. We showed the vouchers at the ticket desk and exchanged them for some lovely printed memories. The current exhibition of Jeanne Mammen was incredibly interesting and really nice curated; the permanent exhibition on the first floor was also good but nothing really spectacular and the number of exhibits wasn't that high. Altogether, it was a great museum visit, highly recommended if you want to enjoy it in the company of some other people.
Jeanne Mammen was a delight, we discovered a lot of interesting facts about her life, the political and feminist touch and the themes she used in her art. For this reason, we believe the current exhibition was much more captivating than the permanent one. The process of obtaining the tickets was smooth and simple, everything went according to plan, we managed to skip the line and enjoy the afternoon in the museum. Since the focus is on contemporary art and the museum itself it's not really huge, the activity can be done in the company of some other people, while you are all learning interesting facts and having fun.
Berlin has so many museums, and if you're a museum lover you can't go without this pass.. it will save you money if you're planning to visit more than 3 museums. Definately recommend it! Be sure to research and check out, which museum you'll need to book a spot like the Pergamon Museum you'd need to book to enter within a timeslot. This I've done when verifying the pass near the Tourist Information point near the Brandenburg Gate.
It would be nice if the the duration of the pass could be extended to a 4-6 day option since there are so many interesting museums to visit. It would also be nice if the option to arrange a timed visit in order to avoid the lines (through the tourist information offices) could be arranged in advance by e-mail. In any case we are gratefull for the existing system that contributed to an unforgetable visit to your butiful city.
I wish we had more time to see the museums but in 2 days we managed to go to the Pergamon, alto, Nueces and the Knoblauches House (the house is free to anyone, so I suggest using the pass towards musuems that charge entry)
