Full description
Follow the traces of one of the historically significant military training areas outside Berlin. Learn more about its importance and hear testimonies of that time.

Depart from Berlin and head west along the “Döberitzer Heerstraße” to Staaken Airfield. The airfield gained fame for its Zeppelin construction during the First World War, and the first aircraft to fly non-stop to New York was also launched here in 1938.

In cooperation with the Sielmann Foundation, you will then head to various locations in Heide. See the former military air base in Döberitz and the barracks of Krampnitz with the missile systems of the Soviets. Finish off the tour with a visit to the Olympic Village and the adjoining barracks.
