Full description
Meet your guide at Beihai North station or take the hotel pickup option before visiting Hutongs, an old Beijing urban feature. Discover this must-visit place that has long been representing the old Beijing culture, showing the old life and history of Beijing.

Before heading to the civilian hutongs and the Shiheyuan, visit the Shiheyuan for the Royal family. The first stop is Prince Gong's Mansion, which was the house of the in infamous corrupted but wealthiest official Heshen before giving to the Manchu Prince Gong. Listen to the stories your guide can share about the Qing Empire.

Continue to Yinding Bridge, located on the Sichihai, where you can see the man-made lakes of Qianhai and Houhai. Learn how these lakes are used for the Forbidden City and take great photos of this area.

Visit the 800 years old Yandai Byway (Smoke Pipe Street) which is the oldest commercial street in Beijing. See many crafted Chinese traditional products like rattle-drum, folding fan, silk scarf, Beijing Opera facial masks, clay figure. You can also see the craftsmen's performance or you might find a postbox dated back to the last Chinese Empire.

Next, climb up to 600 years old and 67-meter high Drum Tower. Learn its function and take a bird’s eye's view from above to the whole hutong area and take the most amazing photos. Visit an ancient courtyard (the siheyuan), where the house of officials and tycoons lived. Learn its culture, layout, and Fengshui setup. Be amazed by these old mansions and enjoy the atmosphere. 

The tour ends after this visit. Feel free to continue the nearby Nanluoguxiang Hutongs Area or let the guide take you to the nearest Metro station.
