Full description
This day tour is a great way to experience some of the must-see attractions that are located outside of Bath. After being collected from Bath you will be driven through the English countryside to reach the city of Wells, England's smallest city. The city is home to a magnificent cathedral that dates back to the 13th Century. During your private walking tour of the city you will visit the Cathedral where you can also see one of the world's oldest working clocks. You will also visit other historic areas in the city such as Europe's oldest residential street. Many of these sites have been used as locations for films.

After visiting Wells you will be driven to Cheddar, the birth-place of the world's most popular cheese - Cheddar Cheese. Today there is only one factory still producing cheese from this area. You will visit this small factory to get a great insight into how traditional Cheddar Cheese is made. Depending upon activity at the factory you may have the opportunity to see employees making the cheese. Before leaving the factory you will have the chance to sample different varieties of the cheese, including a cheese which has been matured in local caves and you will have the opportunity to purchase some as gifts or to enjoy on the rest of your holiday.

Cheddar Gorge is England's largest gorge and has been voted as one of Britain's greatest wonders. It is the most spectacular scenery in the region. Driving through the gorge, there will be the opportunity to stop and walk up to a fantastic viewpoint with panoramic views over the gorge and surrounding area. This walk involves a steep 15 minute section on uneven (and sometimes muddy) ground.

From the Cheddar Gorge you will be driven back through the English countryside to your drop off point in Bath. During the day, lunch will be taken at a traditional coaching inn that dates back to the 15th Century.
