Over 10,000 people once lived in the Roman city of Augusta Raurica on the River Rhine. Discover the fascinating traces that they left behind on this introductory tour. Find out all sorts of interesting things about the public life of a Roman town.

Start by seeing a unique bronze model of the city, where you will learn everything about Roman town-planning. In the authentic reproduction of a Roman house, you will learn about aspects of Roman domestic life. Did you know that underfloor heating is a Roman invention?

In the museum, there is an opportunity to admire the largest silver treasure from Roman antiquity and discover all sorts of interesting facts about Roman military and mercantile history.
