Full description
Discover centuries-old methods for using a wide range of native plants and herbs in daily life with a herbal walking tour on the famous island of Bali. Or learn how to make the traditional Indonesian herbal medicine jamu in a jamu making class. Alternatively, complete your experience by selecting the combo option to take part in both the tour and class.

On the herbal walking tour, trek along lush rice fields and farmlands and wave to the friendly villagers that you meet along the way. Learn how to identify the herbs by sight, smell, and taste with your local guide, and find out about the methods the farmers use to cultivate rice and the irrigation system. Take the opportunity to taste some edible leaves, suck the nectar out of the red flowers of the hibiscus tree, and drink fresh young coconut juice.

In the jamu making class, enjoy a hands-on experience making refreshing jamu and medicines such as balm, body oil, and body masks. Learn about healing treatments that use Jamu, a predominantly herbal medicine made from natural materials, such as roots, bark, flowers, seeds, leaves, and fruit. Please be aware that materials acquired from animals, such as honey, royal jelly, milk, and eggs are also often used.
