What people are saying about Bali
We received contact information from Kirana Tour the night before our booking. This had the name of our driver/guide, Mr. Turah, as well as his phone number. He arrived on time and we sat down to discuss where we wanted to go. He looked up all the distances to see which route would be best. Mr. Turah drove a comfortable van and spoke fairly good English. We loved the lunch spot he chose for us, with scenic views of a rice paddy. The food was good, too. This was a good value for the money. We decided to stop about 2 hours early because we were hot and tired. We were able to see the highlights, but I will say that we did not get much guidance. In hindsight, we would definitely skip the commercialized Tegalalang Rice Terrace and go to the further, more authentic one instead. Wish we had known how "Disney-like" it was. Would also do the swing at Gunung Kawi instead of at the rice terrace. Overall, a good experience.
I loved the day. I had an amazing tour guide. He was punctual, respectful and an over joy to be with throughout the day. I had the opportunity to visit two healers - one in the morning and one in the evening, visit fountains where I cleansed myself and then break for lunch. Dwipa - tour guide took me to the best place I have ever had lunch. The view was spectacular. I had lunch on a bridge in a forest. Dwipa (tour guide) let me change my afternoon plan so I could go see a second healer and then visit a beautiful rice field. I even had the opportunity to go on the famous swing in the rice field. All together a fabulous day. Dwipa was the best tour guide I have encountered. I do travel extensively.
I had a good time and the instructors were great, experienced, patient and helpful. HOWEVER, I did not get the attention I needed in the video and picture taking part. They did not capture the video of me actually surfing at my best. They only got footage of me falling off. I was angry about that. This was my very first time trying to surf and the moment wasn't even captured, nothing that I was interesting in sharing anyway. I wanted that particular moment captured but now it is forever lost. Again, they are great and I would recommend them but I would also recommend having someone else take photos and videos in addition to their videographer just in case they missed the opportunity.
I had a wonderful time on my tour to Uluwatu. I really enjoyed the beaches we visited and the wonderful nature alongside the shore of Uluwatu and Nusa Dua. Because of the virus, I was the only person on the trip, but my guide Yogi was wonderful, so I had a great last day in Bali. He explained a lot about the culture and religion of Bali, he was very professional and always gave me as much time as I needed on my own to explore the sights and beaches, so I had a relaxing, yet educational day. I can highly recommend this tour anyone enjoying a mixture of cultural sights, nature and beaches.
This is a MUST DO experience if you are in this area of Bali. Our guide was AMAZING. He knew locals, off the beaten track sights and was really informative and engaging throughout. Depending on where you may be located this can be an early start but it's completely worth it for the things you get to see and do. The temple, jungle rope swing and cave waterfall moments will stay with me forever. Really good value for money.
