What people are saying about Atlas Mountains

A long way but we'll worth the trip if you have the time.

A long drive out of Marrakech (a whole day including the stops) but good value for money as you stop on 1st day for a tour of 2 kasbahs including one very grand one where Gladiator and Indiana Jones were filmed. We were a bit disappointed in our guide who asked for 20dh from each person despite not giving us much of a guided tour. The whole point of the trip is obviously the sunset camel trek into the desert (this was amazing even if we almost missed the sunset due to stopping too much on the way!) Do not be fooled into thinking you need scarves as just normal clothes is fine. The camel trek is about 1 hour but you do not want much longer as it is quite bumpy and uncomfortable! The evening is spent in the Berber camp, tagine and listening to them play musical instruments and sing. We had a go ourselves too. Proper toilets mattresses blankets provided. We got up to watch sunrise then a shorter (20 mins) camel trek to meet our bus. If you have longer in Morocco then I would recommend.

Unbelievable experience, definitely take the trip!!

We did the 3 day tour to Merzouga from Marrakech this week. It was one of the most unbelievable experiences we have ever had. The Sahara is truly amazing. It is a long drive, however on the way it is split up with a night in a hotel and lots of other activities. The hotel on the first night was very clean and comfortable with good air conditioning and a big swimming pool. All of the guides that we met along the way were very friendly and knowledgable. The driver was also great and made plenty of toilet and water stops. The bus was also comfortable and the air conditioning was used the whole journey there and back. On the way back it is just a straight journey on the bus and yes it is long, however the journey is absolutely worth it for the experience!!! Riding the camels in to the Sahara and watching the sunset and sunrise was breathtaking. The actual camp is also much more comfortable than we expected, was really great and the Berber tribe were so good and accommodating!

Excellent experience, worth every penny.

Slightly more touristic than I first expected. A lot of stops at places to buy various things aimed at tourists which are clearly marked up in price from real worth. However that being said this was by far my most enjoyable day in Marrakech. The outbound journey was broken down nicely into multiple stops each offering their own unique experiences. The actual walk within the mountains was breathtakingly stunning, an absolutely beautiful landscape. The tour guides are all extremely friendly and very informative. Highly recommend this as a way to spend one of your days travelling in Marrakech.

Excellent tour with an excellent guide! Would highly recommend!

This was a lovely tour where we really got to learn and see some great morrocan sites! Our tour guide Said was exceptional- he was really friendly, funny and enthusiastic and really took the time to know everyone individually. Seeing the women who made argan oil was enlightening and the homemade tagine for lunch may have been the best meal of my holiday! Definitely a tour not to be missed! Only thing to note is there is a lot of hiking so comfy shoes are a must! Would highly recommend.

Inspirational and once in a lifetime experience

Overall this was a great day and it was well worth the long journey. Once we reached there we were met by our charismatic and charming guide Ibrahim who just made us all feel so relaxed and was extremely knowledgable and compassionate and ensured through out the time he was with us we were all ok and made sure we all got ample time and opportunity to take pictures and feed the monkeys. Definitely recommend anyone visiting Morocco to visit the falls if you can.
