My husband and I were glad we did this tour. Four hours is not too long. Costas kept us engaged with his many stories about the Gods. We walked about 4 miles, but it didn't feel like it. There are opportunities to rest. The climb up the hill can be challenging and it's worth it. Our group was a nice size of about 18 people. It made it easy to hear. We also enjoyed chatting with the other tourists. We bought the combo ticket for entry into the sites. The only downside with the ticket is that you can't use it again to enter the sites later on. This is a great tour and we'll worth your time.

We were a wee worried that 4 hours of history talk might put us to sleep and we were SO wrong! It was all the wonderful fault of our Guide, Nikos. He is a masterful story teller weaving facts of history into why things are they way they are today. We learned so much interesting stuff we began taking notes on our iPhones. The pace was perfect and Nikos always found a place in the shade for us to stand that was in the middle of everything wonderful whilst away from the sometimes throbbing crowds of tourists. He is a true pro and I would say ask for him for sure! I would come back and listen to his tales again and again...he knows every wonderful detail.

Great way to see all of the sites if you have limited time in Athens. Really enjoyed the mythology angle for this tour. I doubt you'd get much out of the sites without a tour guide, though I'm not sure how much this tour differs from standard tours as ours also included info about philosophers and other context outside of mythology. If you have enough time in Athens, I might recommend doing two smaller tours as I think our attention span starting waning after the Acropolis.
