Full description
See the lavender fields and scenic lanes of Provence on a full-day tour, with round-trip transfers from Arles.

Rendez-vous for a Roman escapade to the Pont du Gard, and admire a beautifully preserved Roman aqueduct built to supply water to the city of Nîmes. Stop at Les Antiques near St. Remy de Provence, and admire the Roman arch and mausoleum. Look at paintings Van Gogh painted while a patient at the St. Paul de Mausole mental asylum.

Go to the medieval village of Les Baux de Provence, and see thousands of olive trees that hug the village on all sides and produce a famous olive oil. Return to the 10th century at the citadel, and then enjoy some free time for lunch before a scenic drive to the Luberon region, famous for its wonderful countryside and old villages.

Admire the dry stone buildings of Gordes as it looks over a green valley planted with many cherry trees and vineyards. Visit Roussillon, where inhabitants paint their houses and walls using the natural pigments extracted from the ocher cliffs.

Learn more about the lavender industry and symbol of Provence at the Lavender Museum, and hear how the plant grows wild in the mountains and has been used since Roman times for many medicinal properties. Visit between mid June and mid July and you will also see the lavender fields in full bloom.
