I went on a day trip from Cape Town, leaving my hotel at just after six a.m. The trip to Aquila was comfortable, with a stop for coffee and souveneirs. The resort itself is great, the thatched roofs, wooden beams, well kept garden etc. cannot be faulted. The food was good and the staff polite and knowledgeable. The transport was not as uncomfortable as expected, the guide called it an "African Massage". The safari started about 10 a.m. We were able to see many animals including Rhinos, Elephants, Buffalo, Wildebeest, Warthog, Springbok, Eland etc. The "cats" were not active at that time, which was disappointing. The safari finished at about 12-30, when lunch was available. I am not one for lounging aroud the pool, I found the wait for the return bus, 3 hours, extremely long and boring. I would have liked other organised activities, perhaps a trip to a local vineyard or local craft shop. In my opinion it was worth going for the animal I saw and photographed.

DO NOT BUY THIS TOUR AT ALL!!! You can experience It by buying the cheapest this safari ever offer. This so call Full day experience start at 10 am after they provide a lousy breakfast buffet and end around 11.20am-12pm , after that they provide terrible lunch buffet without any drinks, drinks only available by purchase only. After that is end, the So-called FULL DAY EXPERIENCE stated 7 hours which 1 hour breakfast , 2-3 hour game drive, 1 hour lunch, and the rest time is free time. Why I need a free time when I drive by myself to that place? I can leave anytime I want after the game drive. The cheapest which is half price cheaper offer the same game drive time but only not include the lousy breakfast & lunch, which cost around 70 usd per person . They only provide the full itinerary time after you make the payment. BEWARE

Guide Max was informative and engaging

Thanks for an amazing day Max. Seeing the elephant so close was the highlight of the trip. Felt the restaurant was too busy and for cost of the trip soft drinks should have been included in the price.
