What people are saying about Antibes
We arrived in Nice on the Friday and with plans to visit Monaco the week after, booked the tour as a way to explore all the best the French Riviera had to offer. The tour was sensational and we were really glad that we had the tour on the day after arriving in Nice, making it much easier to know the pinpoints of interest and history behind where we were travelling to next. The tour really was a jam packed day to cover the best of the French Riviera! Our tour guide picked us up on time at 8.30. The tour began with an introduction to Nice then travelled to Monaco for the morning. The brief introduction prior to heading to our next stop was always informative! Whilst there definitely was a lot of destinations to cover in the trip (25,000 steps!), the guide gave us a reasonable amount of time to sightsee each stop (30mins - hour) even if that had meant finishing the tour at a later time. Highlight was definitely Cannes, the Beverly Hills of France!
I think having both Spanish and English is a bit difficult- felt we did not get quite the information as clearly or for as long as the Spanish explanation. The guide did try to go out of her way to accommodate all - whether to take photos or drop us to EZE - we needed that time to climb and look. The perfume factory does not fit at all on this tour. Picasso museum big disappointment as no time to do it after waiting in line for about 10-15 mins and it was near closing time.
The artist bought picassos work to life and enabled a greater understanding of his work giving a wonderful insight into the range of technique he used and the composition of his pieces. I now appreciate his work much more and see how innovative hisapproach was. The drawing exercise afterwards was very enjoyable and enabled one to try differing techniques to reflect the wonderful antibes environment. Would highly recommend this.
If you can get a good driver who is enthusiastic this would be a great tour. We enjoyed the stops and the views but luckily I researched the places I would be before hand and knew what to expect. Driver gave overview of area but no details on any of the things to do or places to go and even skipped old town Nice.
Excellent day and way to get a glimpse of the French Riviera. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and funny. We particularly enjoyed the breathtaking views. Highlights included the stop in Eze medieval village with its beautiful cactus garden and the stop in St. Paul de Vence with its many art galleries.
