What people are saying about Anafiotika
The Acropolis Museum was incredible and would definitely recommend it along with your visit to the Acropolis for an up-close look at some of the preserved artifacts and to learn more about Greek history. The line wasn't too bad during my visit, but being on a tight schedule, I appreciated any time I could save. Would highly recommend if you are in a similar situation. As a tip: the ticket voucher to scan when you arrive at the Acropolis is in the PDF attachment confirmation email and not in the GetYourGuide voucher via the app. Accessing this PDF with barcodes will allow you to proceed directly to the electronic turnstiles to enter the museum.
This was a wonderful tour. Our guide Aristotle lived up to his name. He was originally an archeologist and was extremely informative and made the Acropolis so interesting bringing it to life with his file of pictures from what the Acropolis looked like in the past. He was very considerate and found shade for us every time we stopped in 35 degree heat. And his sense of humour was delightful. There were thousands of people but we were not overwhelmed as he negotiated the crowds with expertise. I can highly recommend this tour.
I recommend purchasing ahead the skip the line ticket. I went to the museum website to purchase the tickets and they did not offer the skip the line. So I went through Get Your Guide. After walking around the Parthenon in the morning, we went to the museum in the afternoon. There was a long line! There was no signage for people with skip the line tickets... so I asked a museum employee working the front of the museum. She looked at our tickets and ushered us right in. Phew!
I was very pleased with the voucher purchased from getyourguide.com. for the the new archaeological exhibit at the Acropolis Museum, Athens. Because the new exhibit is accessed via a separate entrance, we had to use the voucher twice. Both times it allowed us to use an express entrance so we never had long waits for entrance, security or tickets. I’ve been to the Museum many times, but this was our best, most enjoyable visit ever; definitely well worth the advance booking!
Enjoyed very much this new (10 years old) museum as compared with the Archaeological Museum we visited 30 years ago. At that time the only museum in Athens had one a/c unit which attracted older greek woman more than the exhibit itself LOL! A real nice addition. No problem getting tickets through GTP but wasn't really necessary to purchase in advance even in mid August, the lines were short.
