What people are saying about Amsterdam Red Light District

Highly recommended with Different take on the place

Among the tour packages I purchased, I would say this is the best tour I had. I only know the place while walking the street, and probably but that's about it. This tour was a fresh take of history, culture and its take on modern society about the area. This tour should be taken by everyone and not limited to drinking and what they see on the windows. Manouk (tour guide) was simply outstanding because she is very knowledgeable, very accommodating, and she really toured you around the area (not only the red-light street). She managed to set my expectations at the same time make me feel that there is more to this place than meets the eye. The tour started by going to this high-end toy store and gave me a glimpse of all the things people use and see, and the owner was very nice and warm to share his knowledge. We ended by me going to the show and it was really entertaining. Would have been nice to have drinks, but watching it was great to culminate the end of the tour.

Interesting, entertaining and exciting experience!

The guided tour was instrumental in setting the cultural background for the evening’s erotic performance at Casa Rosso. As a small group tour, I was fortunate that the evening’s group was one, so I could have a detailed conversation about the history of the district as well as current changes afoot due to changing political realities in Amsterdam. The guide, Elena, was intelligent and knew her subject matter well. She paced the two hour tour with stops so that I arrived in time for the night’s show. Be forewarned, if you are prudish, this show is definitely NOT for you. For the rest, you can enjoy this type of entertainment for which the establishment is well known.

David? i think was his name, Canadian guy. very informative and funny!

Explained everything there is to know about the red light district, including history and what the current modern age does to still allow prostitution so its safe! David i think his name was (My memory is terrible) smartly dressed young man who really new his stuff. very engaging and was a a pleasure to listen to! Recommend to anyone who wants to learn about the 'ins and outs' (Pardon the pun) of the red light district.

Red light district with Gaard, an open-minding experience

Red light district is a controversial place, but Gaard was appropriate, objective and made funny jokes all the way. This allowed us to make up a personal opinion about the place but also to approach it with an open mind. It was a shame that from 1st of April tours are not allowed in Red Light District. It would have been more fun to tour it after 7pm with a group rather than on my own.

It was worth the tour - informative and set in historical context.

Raven, our guide was extremely engaging and conducted a brilliant walk, taking us through the lanes and streets as she narrated - connecting to events and stories as it happened in old times and how things have evolved over years. She handled the topic boldly and yet sensitively. Full marks to her!
