Full description
After being picked up from your accommodation in a modern 4WD vehicle, head south from Alice Springs along the Stuart Highway to Kings Canyon and when possible via the red, mystic and dusty Giles Road. Leave Alice Springs at 4.30 AM and stop on the way for a break and a light breakfast.

When you arrive in Watarrka National Park, begin you Kings Canyon rim walk which has 500 steps. Admire the jaw-dropping array of native plants and animals. Take in the views across Kings Canyon and the sandstone domes which are known as the Lost City. From the Lost City, wander through the domes to Cotterill’s Lookout. Follow your guide down into the Garden of Eden, where local and exotic plants, trees and ferns surround a natural waterhole. The walk takes approximately 4 hours to complete and there will be plenty of rest stops and unforgettable photos opportunities along the way.

After this, stop for a gourmet picnic. Put your feet up, relax, and enjoy the landscape as you enjoy lunch prepared by your guide. After this, immerse yourself in a 1-hour Aboriginal cultural tour. Experience spear and boomerang displays, learn about bush tucker and medicine, learn the indigenous language, and purchase local arts and crafts. Return to Alice Springs at approximately around 7-7.30 PM.
