Full description
Cross the Australian Outback of the Northern Territories on a 3-day camping tour of Ayers Rock and the Kata Tjuta National Park from Alice Springs. Watch the sun rise and set over Uluru, and learn the importance of the natural landmark to the indigenous Aborigines. Marvel at the sandstone domes of the Garden of Eden, and set up camp in the bush.

Day 1: King’s Canyon (L, D)
Following a pick-up from your accommodation in Alice Springs at 05:30, transfer to Kings Canyon for a 3-hour hike through the sandstone domes of the Lost City. Admire the many natural amphitheaters and see the North and South walls on the way to the Garden of Eden. Next, go to Curtin Springs for a quick wash and toilet break before setting up your bush camp. Your guide will prepare a healthy camp-oven dinner. Then, relax around the fire and curl up in your cozy swag under a canopy of a million stars!

Day 2: Kata Tjuta and Uluru Sunset (B, L, D)
Leave the bush camp just after sunrise and head to the Ayers Rock Campground for a quick shower and toilet stop. Then, transfer to The Olgas, and experience the spiritual significance of the area on a guided walk through the Valley of the Windsat Kata Tjuta. Learn about traditional bush tucker before heading to the Aboriginal Cultural Center to listen to tales from the Tjukurpa Dreamtime. Spend the evening watching a spectacular sunset over Uluru as you enjoy dinner. Marvel at the changing colors of the rock, before bedding down for the night at the Ayers Rock Campground (toilet and shower facilities provided).

Day 3: Uluru Sunrise (B, L)
Depart the Ayers Rock Campground before dawn to watch a memorable sunrise over the world’s largest rock at Uluru. Complete an Uluru “Base Walk” to see beautiful sites, such as the Mala Walk, Mutijulu Waterhole, and Aboriginal Cave Paintings. Stop on the way home for an optional camel ride at a camel farm and experience the Australian Outback from another perspective. You will arrive back in Alice Springs at approximately 17:30, where, after some time to clean up, you can meet your guide for dinner and a couple of beers at The Rock Bar.
