Full description
Navigate the waterways between the barrier islands of Ria Formosa off the coast of Olhão and discover a paradise of nature. Enjoy great views of the Farol Bar and Santa Maria Lighthouse on Farol Island. Stop for lunch in the fishing village of Culatra, home to about 1,000 residents with shops, a school, church, medical office, and even its own football pitch. Savor the local fresh fish at a typical restaurant or go for a nice picnic on the beach.

Continue to Armona Bay and island, where you will stop for another 30 minutes to appreciate the nature. Return to Olhão, passing close to several tuna factories and the fishing harbor. See a larger area of Ria Formosa than most other tours, and benefit from the expert knowledge of your skipper to learn about the flora and fauna.

The boat catered well for the 15-20 people on board as it was spacious and the guide was excellent with explanations in very good English and French. There was time on shore for lunch (not included in the price) on one of the islands, as well as a walk around on another. The nature of the Formosa is spectacular with the sandy beaches, fauna and flora.

Very incessant excursion to recommend

Good reception, but with a downside. We registered directly on the application, specifying that our language is French (as provided on the site). During the reception at the port and during the excursion, nobody spoke French. Fortunately that we master a little the language of Shakespeare ... we were able to find the right boat and follow some explanations. In addition, the electronic ticket is not always recognized, we have to go back to the registrar to be able to board ... and all this in English.
