Full description
The Ria Formosa is one of Portugal's Seven Natural Wonders, and you'll soon discover why. We'll enjoy a guided walking tour of this sacred land, and discover the natural beauty and wildlife that is protected here.

We begin our walk with incredible views over the lagoon. Make sure to snap some photos to show your friends as your expert guide explains the landscape.

The walk continues through the pine woodlands where your guide will point out the wildlife native to these parts. You may be fortunate enough to catch a glimpse of the chameleon, which only lives in this part of Portugal, or maybe even an exotic bird or two!

By the time we arrive at the bird hide, your senses are becoming one with the natural beauty around you. Here, we sit and keep our eyes open for the Purple Swamphen, a protected species of bird that has become the symbol of this Natural Park.

We continue down the trail towards the saltpans, where you can learn about the traditional salt extraction that's happened here for centuries. The Algarve region is famous for the quality of its salt.

On our way back, we'll pass the local people working the clam farms, a perfect end to a wonderful day exploring the beauty of the Ria Formosa!
