What people are saying about Ait Souka
Overall it was nice but there was few things that could be improved. First of all during our first stop to see a village, the guide got a little too deep in the history of the village and Islam in general which was interesting only for first few minutes. The Argan oil house was a nice experience with breakfast and tea served for us there. One thing that was the most disappointing was the camel ride as the spot was just on the side of a road with all the camels tied together so that when we were riding them, camels head was tied to the other camels bum in front of him. It just felt quite uncomfortable and definitely not what we thought it would be.
Really great experience. Our tour guide was actually from the village we hiked in and did a great job of giving us some background. The hike was good (not too rigorous, but just right) and we got to stop at a waterfall. Also, we actually ended up accidentally getting in the wrong van when initially getting picked up from our hotel, and our Atlas Mountain tour guides were so nice that they reached out to us and met the van we were in halfway to take us to the correct excursion. The van was also super nice and comfortable. Highly recommend.
We were met by local guide Mustapha Amazouz and his driver Karim. They were both very friendly and full of useful information about the day. We learnt alot about Moroccan culture, we felt all the information we received was interesting. The Atlas mountains were amazing to see up close after a lovely walk around the local villages. We stopped for a nice Camel ride on way for an hour which was great. Also visited a local shop where we shown the making of oils and soaps.
Mustapha took us on a trip to Imlil. The pace of the entire day was just perfect, not too fast, not too slow. We stopped in the beginning of the Atlas mountains to see some Berber villages and continued to an argain oil women’s cooperative and after we could ride the camels for a bit. For me, the highlight was the walk in Imlil, where (after a decent and tasty lunch) we could enjoy stunning views and a catch a glimpse of mt. Toubkal. Thanks for the nice day!
Great excursion in the beautiful Imlil valley, would have loved a longer hike or to other places in the area. Our guide Mustapha, who's from the mountains, was really enthusiastic and gave us great insights on the local culture. He also ensured everyone was well taken care of, and kept in touch with all during the pick up and after the tour. Would recommend this trip.
